Windows 10: Can i move my OEM windows 11 pro license to another motherboard?

I want to move my windows 11 pro license that came with my pc. But now i want to upgrade the motherboard, can i move my license?

windows 11 pro oem to retail?

i purchased a prebuilt pc that came with a windows 10 pro oem license eligible for the windows 11 upgrade. i have since upgraded to the windows 11 pro oem version. my question is if i purchase a windows 11 pro retail license, can i change the installed version by changing the license info on the pc using the new retail license?

 

Activate Retail windows 11 pro key on a PC with an OEM license

I just recently bought a windows 11 pro retail license key, I intend to use it on my OEM activated windows 11 pro PC, but I don't know how to remove the OEM license first.

Is there anyway to do this, I don't intend to use the OEM license on another PC.

I upgrade my PC very often and an OEM license is not very convenient, I now realize how much I regret buying a preactivated PC.

 

Windows 11 home preinstallation needs to be updated with a windows 11 pro OEM license.

We have a machine that was bought by a client and given to us with Windows 11 home on it. We purchased the license for Windows 11 pro and for some reason when going to the settings and changing the product license.

it gives an error saying "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one.

We bought it from Newegg. From them themselves, not some other side company.

I don't know why it wouldn't be valid. It does say it's an OEM license, but even that should be able to replace an existing home license.

If anyone has any experience with this issue, I would very much appreciate the help. I'm thinking since the license is stored in the motherboard(No Microsoft account logged in, so it's JUST on the motherboard.) if there's a tool or command or PowerShell script that removes the Windows license and requests a new one.

I think the seller might give a volume key.

Windows 11 Home comes single edition, so no chance to entered pro key to activate.

Download Windows 11 consumer edition which contains home and professional.

install windows 11 pro on top of Windows 11 Home, and activate the license by entering pro key.
