Windows 10: Can I prevent a laptop user from doing a factory reset?

I understand there are at least two ways to carry out a factory reset Window 11 Home -1 Using Settings/System/Recovery/Reset this PC.I understand this only works from an Administrative Account, or if a user has the Admin Account password/PIN.2 Using the appropriate function key e.g. F11 on an HP laptop at startup to boot into Recovery.Can this can be done by any user?I've read that the command "reagentc.exe /disable" can be run, with Admin privileges, to stop option 1 being allowed for any user.Can you confirm this is correct, and whether running "reagentc.exe /disable" affects opt

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

 

Windows 7 Laptop - Cannot reset to factory settings

I have been trying to reset my laptop to sell and followed instructions to reset to factory settings as below

1. Select the category “System and Security” in the control panel.
   
2. In the section “Backup and restore” you can find “Recover system settings on your computer” and then click on “Advanced recovery settings”.
   
3. Then, you need to click on “Return your computer to factory condition
   

I do not have the option Return your computer to factory condition in step 3

Any ideas?

I also have the added challenge that my keyboard does not work as I spilt water on it.

This has taken me hours to try and resolve!!
