Windows 10: Can I prevent PC from switching from Ethernet to iPhone hotspot when I plug into usb...

Everytime I plug my iPhone into my PC to charge it or to import photos, the PC drops its ethernet connection and starts using my personal hotspot and burning through my cellular data. I want to keep my iPhone personal hotspot turned on since my car uses it to download software and map updates. I would like to leave "tethering" as an option in case my internet at work ever goes down. Can I somehow prioritize my ethernet connection over my iPhone? I read about using Provider Order in advanced settings under network connections but it doesn't seem to differentiate between my ethernet and my i

Personal Hotspot on iPhone not detected on Thinkpad T480s

I used to be able to connect my iPhone 6s (iOS 13) to my Thinkpad T480s (Win 10 Pro, 1903, latest updates) via USB-C and use the personal hotspot on the iPhone to connect to the internet. This worked without any issues for several years through several upgrades of iOS and Windows.
Now I switched to an iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 13) and the T480s does not detect the iPhone's personal hotspot any more. Personal hotspot is turned on on the iPhone 11 Pro. The T480s sees the iPhone and I can browse its content.
The personal hotspot on the iPhone 6s (also iOS 13) is also not detected any more since I updated the following Apple software on the T480s to the current versions:

• AppleApplicationSupport64
• AppleMobileDeviceSupport64
• AppleSoftwareUpdate

Am I missing something here?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

OK, I have an iPhone X with a Verizon unlimited plan on it. This plan includes personal hotspot usage, and I use it all the time by my pc via USB. However, recently I plugged my phone in to my pc, turned on my hospot like I always do, but this time the
little blue status bar on the top of my iPhone that shows the hotspot connections symbol did not show up. My PC recognizes that the phone is there, but it does not recognize that the hotspot is on. I did a little bit of troubleshooting; I plugged my phone
into a different pc and it worked totally fine, everything worked, so that means that it is not a problem on the phone end, but rather on the pc end. Next, I plugged a different iPhone (with the same Verizon plan) into my pc, and it worked fine. So, it seems
to me that my PC is specifically not recognizing my iPhone, which I thought was weird because PCs don't save wired connections like they do wireless.

Like I said, any help will be greatly appreciated.

One last suggestion I have is to open Device Manager (search from start menu) and uninstall the iPhone device which will be listed when you plug it in.

Then if you disconnect and re-connect it, this will trigger a new driver installation.
