Windows 10: Can I recover files after a factory reset?

Title. I was trying to fix something on my brothers laptop and all his school files were in a one drive folder. I reset the laptop thinking they were all saved to his one drive cloud and now he has lost everything.

I’ve seen a lot of tutorials on YouTube etc. for apps that can recover files on a hard drive that’s been reset. Is there a genuine app that can do this?

I chose the quick reset option that took 10 minutes instead of the hours long one if that changes anything.

How to undo factory reset in windows 10

I had reset my laptop to factory settings without deleting personal files, but one of my software was deleted with its own database.

Any suggestions for how to undo this reset effect? There is no system restore point.

What can I do to recover that software or at least the database mdf and ldf file
