Windows 10: Can I remove Windows account from a Laptop remotely?

My laptop was stolen, I want to know if there is a way to remove the Microsoft account so they can't have access to the information inside in case they discover the password to access? Or is there something else I can to to protect the information besides changing passwords and logging out remotely?

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.

HP Connected Remote is an app that comes preinstalled on select Windows HP computers. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it resolves this issue.

• On the Windows 10 Start screen, type hp connected remote.
• Click HP Connected Remote from the Apps search results.
• Click Settings, and make sure Enable HP Connected Remote is turned On.

Surface Laptop 3 Remote Connection

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I tried the steps listed and the two accounts shown are my correct Microsoft account and a local account both administrators, the local account is the one I setup to test my remote connection with my Surface Laptop 3 which worked but
with limited access to my programs and files, the Microsoft account has all programs and files I need and this is the one I can't connect to remotely, I think the account that is wrong is shown in my PC settings but not on my Microsoft Account, control panel/settings
will not allow me to remove the incorrect account.
