Windows 10: Can I request a CD-ROM driver to reinstall, to open & eject DVD tray door on PC.

I 've reset the PC twice & download tool of Windows 10 21H1, to find out my PC will cause a "switch" of DVD/CD-ROM drives & drivers. 1. Aircard TRU-Install USB device. 2. TSSTcorp DVD+-RW SU 208GB.Windows Update won't download the DVD/CD-ROM driver, to secure the DVD tray on the PC.I' am at point to just buy a external DVD player to stop the hassle of searching for the driver, just to open the DVD tray door, along with knowing the PC's DVD compartment is going to get "wasted" to use.So far, at least 3 websites confuse or refuse to access the DVD driver download.

In File Explorer, under This PC, locate your CD/DVD drive, right click and select Eject.

If that doesn't works, the CD-ROM, CD-RW, or DVD drive can be opened using the emergency eject pinhole. Use the following steps:

1. Close any applications using the drive and then shut down the PC.
2. Find the pinhole on the drive door.
3. Bend part of the paperclip to a point. Insert the paperclip slowly until there is resistance, then gently push until the drive door is opened.
4. Pull the drive tray out and remove the disk. Close the tray.

Cd Rom / Dvd Writer

Hi,

I have both Samsung CD ROM & LG DVD Writer(Both are internal). Since some days CD ROM is getting opened and trying to get closed all by its own.

I removed the power cord of CD ROM & again connected. This time it is not showing both the drives. It is showing only 1 drive and if i right click on that drive and select eject, both the drives are getting opened.

Is it anything related to virus? Do i need to install OS once again.

Pls Suggest

Hi Stacey,

Does your CD-Rom/DVD show within “This PC” on your PC? If you right click on it, is there an eject button?

If this doesn’t work, look on the physical cd tray itself, do you see a paper clip sized hole? You can poke a paper clip in there and see if it pops open.
