Can I restrict access to installed software from a user account on Windows 10 pro?

Hello.I have a desktop with Windows 10 pro, Intel's i5 13600 processor, and 32GB of RAM.My question is: if I create two normal non-admin users on Win 10 pro, would I be able to keep all their data isolated from each-other?For example, if the admin account creates "user A", and "user B", I want the set-up so that A, and B would not be able to see each-other's files/data.While changing the read permissions of files from other drives, or files from outside of "user" folders, would it be possible to change the permissions of files from the "C:\Users\A" so that user B wont be able to access them

    :)

    Making a restricted user account

    There is this:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/...rosoft-privacy

but note when you look at the Settings options it says

For folders, 'List folder contents' can be assigned permissions- how helpful that might be for O/S folders and what adverse effects it could have if restricted for a given user I have no idea. Just a thought..

Permissions for data is the relatively easy bit.

Unable to set restriction for local user in Windows 10

    Hi,

I realized your concern and will assist you to resolve the issue.

    • How did you noticed that user is still able to access the drive?

    • Did you log into the local user account and check the permission?
I suggest you to follow the steps below to restrict the user.

    • In File Explorer, right click on the drive which you want to restrict.
    • Click Properties.
    • Click the Security tab.
    • Click on Edit to change the permissions.
    • Uncheck all the permission for system.
    • Click OK and make sure the change is applied to all subfolders and files.

Can I restrict access to installed software from a user account on Windows 10 pro?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Can I restrict access to installed software from a user account on Windows 10 pro? :(
