Windows 10: Can I save my copy of Win10?

I want to convert my HDD to a backup drive and need to format it to remove many unwanted files/folders. Can I save my Win10 somehow to use it in the future?TIA

  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Click file explorer from the list.
  
• 
  Select the CD/DVD drive and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Select the files you want to copy from the CD/DVD, then select the drive where you want to paste or save.

Or if you copy the file and want to save you can follow the steps provided below.

• Open Paint application.
• Press Ctrl + V key.
• And save the image file.
