Can I save non-synced folders in OneDrive (Folders from a 2nd Hard Drive) - i.e. Use...

I have 2 hard drives - a smaller C: SSD (200 GB) and a larger D: HD (2 TB) in my laptop. I keep everything that I use, need and is active on the C: drive and it is synced to/with OneDrive.

But I am using the 2 TB HD mainly for storing my life-time pictures (around 200 GB by themselves) - but they don't need to be synced because I rarely make any changes to that folder(s) -- and of course, they will not fit on the C: drive.

So I have a couple of questions:

    1) Is there a way to sync the folders on the D: drive with my other folders on my OneDrive - I haven't seen that this is a MS OneDrive supported feature (although I may have missed it) -- and I really don't need to do this - i.e. #2 will work just fine

    2) Is there a way to just use the OneDrive as a Back-up storage device without engaging the OneDrive syncing business - i.e. just copy/upload the large Pictures folders to OneDrive and just leave them there for back-up purposes - and just re-load (or add new folders) to these saved pictures on an as needed basis.

I am an Office 365 subscriber, so I have the 1T of storage for each of my 365 licenses, BUT I don't want to jack around with a bunch of additional MS accounts - I just want to keep it simple.

What is the best way to accomplish this. Thanks.

  2. Upgrade to Windows 10 changed my folders on 2nd hard drive

    Hello Everyone!

Here is my problem the best I can explain, step by step:

I have two working hard drives and recently upgraded to windows 10 from 7 doing a clean install from a bootable disk.

I copied and pasted all of my folders that I wanted to save onto the non OS hard drive before upgrading.

After a successful install I went to find my folders and they had added what looked like Windows 7 old folders that are mostly empty.

There is one folder that is the correct size (373GB) of the material I saved that now reads :

    Temp_SafeToDeleteRefreshFile_Attempt0__File0

This file has an extension of FILE type and I have not found a program that can extract/open it yet.

The only clue I have as to what happened is during installation, windows saw my 2nd hard drive as a partition of the OS hard drive, Quick Formatted it?, and wrote some files other on it while changing the saved ones.

I will answer any questions I can in an attempt to help solve this problem. I appreciate any suggestions!

  3. Random folders appearing to my new hard drive

    Options > Scan options

    Can I save non-synced folders in OneDrive (Folders from a 2nd Hard Drive) - i.e. Use... untitled-png.png

Then after that, enable options > hide virustotal.com clean entries ... only suspicious stuff will remain.
Check the complete list on the Everything tab, it may not be explorer extension listed on that tab.

It may be something stupidly simple like onedrive/skydrive being setup to sync folders that are being dumped remotely.
