  1. Can I save windows 10 search results without having to repeat a search?

    Hi there,

Basically I have a large static collection of files. I want to perform a search and save these results so I can quickly bring them up without having to repeat the search again. These files are on a NAS drive and so are not indexed.

Currently I've been unable to figure out a way to do this. Saving the search via the win 10 built in save option simply saves the search query so you can repeat the search at a later date. This is fine if you have a set of changing files but mines are static so having to wait for windows to find the exact same files over and over again is very time wasting.

Is there a built in way for windows 10 to do this? Or perhaps some 3rd party plugin for explorer?

    Thanks

    :)

    Save cortana search results

I am also having difficulty with the current version of Windows 10.

When I use the Cortana search facility to locate documents or images saved by me on my hard drive it locates them fine.

I used to be able to save the results of that search using Explorer but that facility is no longer available.

There does not seem to be a way to save all the results of a search so that I can go back to it and open each document or image it has found matching my search criteria.

As soon as I click on one of the results in the list all of the other results disappear as the window closes. Only the selected result remains. Previously I could go back to my saved results and open each one individually with a click. Now I have to re-run
    the search each time.

This is a definite retrograde 'development' and has reduced the productivity and usefulness of using Windows as a filing system which can be searched and sub-searched.

Can I save windows 10 search results without having to repeat a search?

Windows 10 search not indexing Outlook 2013, no search results

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in using Windows 10.

Let's diagnose the issue by referring to the following suggestion and check if that helps you.

First of all, I would suggest you to check if the
    Windows Search
Service is running in Automatic mode under the list of Windows services. You can follow the steps to check and start the
    Windows Search again:

    • Press Windows+R keys to open Run. Type “servces.msc” without quotes and hit
      Enter.
    • From the list of services, locate the Windows Search Support Service
      and Windows Search Service.
    • Right click on the Windows Search Service
      and then click on Properties.
    • Check if the service is running. If not, start the service and change the
      Startup type to Automatic.
    • Follow the same steps to start the Bluetooth service
and change the startup type to Automatic.
You can also try the following suggestion.

Run the Search and Indexing troubleshooter. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    • Press “Windows key + W”.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
    • Select “View all” option from the left panel.
    • Select “Search and Indexing”.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
Hope this information helps you. Please do let us know if you need further assistance.
