Can I search across a subset of folders in Explorer?

I have a folder of a sequence of ca 1000 folders, R001 to R890, each with 0-20 files.I want to search the contents of R432 to R452 for all files names including "ep", then copying the relevant files for further work.I can search the whole folder of folders producing a very long list.I cannot see in the search options an option to search a subset. Is it easily possible?Thank you

    :)

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

  3. setting default view for Winodws Explorer Search Reasults

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

    • Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
    • In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
      to change the view.
    • Once changed, close the File Explorer.
    • Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

After performing the steps above, reply back to us so we can provide additional help.
