Windows 10: Can I sell a used PC with an unregistered copy of Windows?

Can I sell a used PC with an UNREGISTERED copy of Windows?By that I mean eitherMy previous copy of windows which I unregister by slmgr /cpky Or a fresh legitimate copy of Windows without key entered.Rational:The buyer could re-register with his own key.I can demonstrate the PC is working.

Selling PC. Want to reinstall Windows to smaller SSD

As the title suggests, I am selling an old laptop. The original SSD was a 120gb. I replaced it with a 500gb. Now, as I am selling the computer, I want to put the original 120gb back in with a clean copy of Windows 10 Home.

With Microsoft being somewhat particular about it's installs, I want to be sure I do this right so that the new owner of this PC can activate without issue.

I understand the basic process to install a new copy before selling:

However, since I'm going to a smaller drive, I'm trying to decide whether I should:

1. Install Windows to the current 500gb drive and then clone it to the 120gb

OR

2. Install Windows to the120gb drive from the start.

I have Macrium Reflect 8 and can do the clone easily if that's the best way.

I suggest you to unregister and re-register the Windows installer service by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + R keys to open the Run Dialog box.
• Type msiexec /unregister and press Enter/click on OK to unregister the service.
• Press Windows + R keys to open the Run Dialog box.
• Type msiexec /regserver and press Enter/click on OK to re-register the service.

Try to install the application and check for status.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
