I keep clicking some other file by mistake and it overwrites whatever name was entered. Very annoying when downloading things for example, especially since they need to have unique names.

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

File Explorer Save As dialog changed?

Following the latest Win 10 update, has something changed in File Explorer? In the Save As dialog shown in my screenshots I expect a simple alphabetic order, with folders first then files.

It gets even more confusing if I show all files, by entering '*.*' into the File name box.

Is there some setting I can use to restore the familiar, consistent display please, as many of my (Macro Express Pro) scripts rely on it.

Note: if it's relevant, I use the Classic Shell file explorer.

    Change Default File Names

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Anthony.

I'm Independent Advisor and I'm happy to assist you.

Below are the steps to change your default file name:

    > Open the template file (it has a .Dot extension).

    > Choose the Properties option from the File menu. This displays the Properties dialog box for the template.

    > Select Summary tab

    > Change the contents of the Title field to the default file name you want to use. No need to include the .Doc portion of the file name.

    > Click on OK to close the dialog box.

    > Save and close the template.

    Hope it will help.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you and Keep Safe.
