Windows 10: Can I transfer my windows 10 Digital License to a new windows 11 pc?

I have a digital license that ties to my account and I'm currently using windows 10. I plan to buy a new computer with Windows 11 next month. So, will it be possible to transfer my current digital license into this new computer? Do I have to remove the device on my account first or can I just activate it on a new pc.

Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.

Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.

Transfer digital license to new laptop

Hi,

I purchased a laptop with Windows 11 Home preinstalled. I have a digital license for Windows 10 pro on an old PC. I would like to transfer the Pro license to the new laptop - either Windows 10 pro or Windows 11 pro. How do I transfer the digital License?

Transfer Windows 10/11 Pro digital license to a new Windows 11 home pc

Hi all,

I have recently upgraded my Windows 10 home pc to Windows 10 pro via a digital license bought from the Microsoft store (named Windows 10/11 Pro).

I would like to:

1. transfer that pro digital license to my new Windows 11 Home pc in a few days once my new pc arrives, and also

2. keep the present computer working with the previous Windows 10 home license.

How can I achieve that? (I don't have the product key for the Windows 10 home, I already bought pc with it pre-installed)
