Windows 10: Can I turn of the info bar that pops up when I swipe the right side of my laptop?

Currently, I am using a touchpad laptop to take notes by hand. The problem is that when I put my hand down to write, I touch the right side and that info bar (where you get your messages and where you can change some settings like flight mode etc.) pops up and stops me from writing for a moment. It annoys the hell out of me and I have been looking to turn that off but I cannot find any settings. Help would be much appreciated!

If you’re using Microsoft EDGE then, I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

To turn on pop-up blocker follow the steps below

• 
  Open Microsoft Edge browser. Click on "More actions" link (...) at right side on address bar
  
• 
  In "More actions" menu, Click on "Settings" to open Settings screen.
  
• 
  In "Settings" screen, click "View advanced settings" button below "Advanced settings"
  
• 
  In "Advanced settings" screen, turn ON toggle button below the "Block pop-ups" to block the pop-ups. Turn OFF toggle button to unblock the pop-ups

Horizontal swipe for apps available in windows 10?

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 a feature known as 'Charms Bar' enabled this feature where you could swipe from the right edge and open the Charms bar to access Start and other features. However, with Windows 10 that feature is not available.

As a work around, you may place your taskbar on the right edge of the screen rather than at the bottom of the screen. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Right click anywhere at the blank area on the taskbar which is the small bar at the bottom of the screen and click on properties.
• Uncheck the box which says 'lock the taskbar' and click on OK.
• Click the taskbar and drag it all the way to the right edge of the screen.
• Follow step 1 and 2 and select 'lock the taskbar' and click on ok.

Can't swipe right hand edge or some icons

- What is the make and model of your device?

- Did you make any changes prior to this issue?

- Are you using Microsoft account or Local account?

When you say "swipe the right hand edge", are you referring to Charms bar?

The Charms Bar functionality has been removed in this version of Windows 10.

For Microsoft logo, wifi and notification issue, I suggest you to create a new user account and check.

Follow the steps given below:

1. Click on Start and go to setting.

2. Select Accounts.

3. Click on family and user.

4. Under “Other user” click on “Add someone else to this PC”.

5. Follow the instructions and check if it helps.
