Can I turn off system permission to write or modify an app and still use the app normally?

Every time I try to delete any Adobe app it ends up deleting other Adobe apps and files I did not want to delete. I tried to install them in different extension folders but was unable to. So now I was looking for a way to block my uninstaller apps from being able to modify them without my direct consent. Thanks

    :)

    App Permissions

    Hi Tony,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Some apps require certain permissions to work properly. However, you can change the permissions given to the apps by following the below steps:

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click on Settings and then click on Privacy.
    3. Under the App Permissions you can change the permissions which are assigned for the apps.

However, you can go through the
    Microsoft Privacy Statement
    .

    Hope it helps.

  3. What is App Connector...?

Right, you might not be a developer but at some point you might use a 3rd party UWP App.

The UWP Skype App needs access to your camera and your microphone ... while not a 3rd party App, Skype might not have access to those without App Connector - not sure, just an example.

The Google App (Ok Google) needs to access your microphone.

Instead of everyone writing their own access, getting permissions, etc, their Apps ask the App Connector to service their requests.

This approach is nothing new to Android users, when an Android App gets installed, it lists the permissions it requires. You either accept them or cancel the install. Most people accept and install the App. MS might be trying to get past that one install step by granting the permissions to the App Connector. The permissions are listed on the App page in the Store - nothing nefarious, just eliminating a step.

Keep in mind - this is all conjecture on my part - no hard evidence did I find *Wink

Can I turn off system permission to write or modify an app and still use the app normally?

Prevent specific app writing on specific folder

The app probably has SYSTEM permissions on you computer. Changing USER permissions will have no effect. On the other hand, if you block you app permissions to write to the folders (System) it is designed to write, it may not work.
