Windows 10: Can I turn this off? [BitLocker data protection info about my disks]

Hi,

Before I start just want to say that I'm not paranoid with windows privacy, and I agree with a lot but to a point.

So decided to make a clean install and went to microsoft website to delete all synced data, to have nice clean experience after install.

However I have spottet that ms somehow pulled information about my disk space and their capacity. Question was born in my head:

• If they can pull and store real time data about my disk space, what stops them from storing a list of files on these drives?
• Can this be turned off?

If nothing can be done I will move on and ignore this for now, but will keep it in mind.

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

Hi,

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

Please make sure you are signed as the Administrator of the computer.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive

How to turn bitlocker "again" on a drive which was previously bitlocker decrypted? Please Help!

Hi,

Device encryption helps protect your data by encrypting ("scrambling") it. Only someone with the right encryption key (like a password) can decrypt ("unscramble") it.

• Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
• Go to Start, enter encryption, and select
  Change device encryption settings from the list of results.
• Select Manage BitLocker, select Turn on BitLocker, and then follow the instructions.
