Windows 10: Can I update Windows 11 store apps installed with .appx or .appxbundle?

Can I update Windows 11 store apps installed with .appx or .appxbundle? I'm asking because I can't update an app with Google Play Store which are downloaded by .APK or .xapk.

Seems like that would install the Store app if it was completely removed. What do you think?

Microsoft Desktop app installer errors

Microsoft App Installer is a built-in part of Windows 10. Its purpose is to help you install other Desktop Apps. It doen't have an entry on the Start menu, it is invoked by double-clicking on a .appx or .appxbundle file - in much the same way as the Windows Installer installs conventional programs by double-clicking on a .msi file.

As the App Installer is itself a Desktop App it is updated not through windows update but through the Store. Do you have any other preinstalled Store apps that have problems updating - like Mail, Groove Music, Photos, Calculator, Films & TV or the Store itself?

I have the Store set for manual updates. I've just opened the Store and successfully updated my App Installer.

Actually you are, though you may not realise it. If you have the Store set to automatically update Apps then it will be working in the background to install updates for all the preinstalled Desktop Apps that come with Windows 10.
