    Can I upgrade from 8.1 to 10 with just a local account?


    I am preparing for the plunge by joining this forum.
    My current 8.1 account is just local, I have no 'Microsoft Account' created.
    Does 10 require the MS account or will it force me to have one?

    Just updgraded to Windows 10 and password not recognised

    I've just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 and can't log in with my password for my local account as it's not recognised (it is correct). I can't change other users passwords because my admin password is also not being recognised. How can I get my passwords
    back or access my local account?
