Windows 10: Can I use a boot disk without a windows password?

Was trying to solve high system power usage problem and disabled windows systems in msconfig window. Now when I restart I get the "pin not found" error message and can't log in. When I go to bios startup, every repair option asks for a windows password but it doesn't work with my current password they must be out of synch. Is there a way to use a boot thumb drive to get into my account without a password?

You can reset your password following the next steps:

• Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
• Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
• Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
• Press e for edit.
• Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
• Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
• Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
• Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
• Type in passwd yourusername
• Set your new password.
• Restart your system.

  • Sign in to your Microsoft account, then select

  • Select Change password.
  • Enter your current password, then the new password that you want to use, then enter the new password again.

Try the following steps to create a password reset disk for a local user account.

• Login to your computer using the local account you want to create a password reset disk for.
• Insert a USB drive or SD card into the computer.
• Type Create a password reset disk and select it
• Click Next.
• Select the location to create the password key disk and click Next.
• Enter your account password and click Next.
• Click Next, then click Finish.
