Windows 10: Can I use my W7 disk key to install W11?

I built my PC six years ago, which is still acceptable for my needs. At the time, I had still have a legitimate copy of Windows 7 on CD and I was able to upgrade to W10. I did a full wipe and clean install a few years ago, and if I remember correctly, I just downloaded W10 online and used the same key. Then I did an upgrade from W10 to W11 about a year later.My question is if I do a clean install again will I be able to use my W7 key to directly install W11? OR can I at least still install W10?

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Can a W7 Dell key be upgraded to W11 and installed on a new (non-Dell) machine? + BryteSoft key sale

My kids have old Dell Latitudes that had W7 Pro on them with the sticker in the battery compartment. They were used and given as gifts (written-off old machines from a company). I have tried to use Rufus and the ISO, and the Dell installation app, too, to install W7 on my son's brand-new, blank computer both ways, but it freezes while forming the Windows logo. There is no way to switch from UEFI to legacy on this ASUS mobo. My best guess, based on related experiences in the past is that W7 just isn't made to run on a computer this new, and some other people have suggested as much, while others have argued that you can do it with a lot of extra effort.

Is it, in fact, without a great deal of hassle, possible to install W7 and then upgrade it, or use a W10/11 upgrade ISO with the W7 key?

One person suggested that I buy KEYS (nothing else - they are emailed upon purchase) from Brytesoft.com for TWENTY DOLLARS. He said he's been using them since 2019 and can update and has had no keys banned. Assuming he's not lying, I find this really suspicious since the Microsoft line is buy it from MS or an authorized dealer - anything else is either a scam like you can see on eBay, Amazon, etc., or MSDN/TechNet licenses being sold in violation of the ToA. However, I suppose it's POSSIBLE (but unlikely) that BryteSoft is partnered with MS.

Looking for an official response, if possible. My son's budget has been reached.

 

How to recover w7 key from w7 installed OS

Users can retrieve it by issuing a command from the command prompt.

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click Command Prompt (Admin)
• At the command prompt, type: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey. This will reveal the product key. Volume License Product Key Activation.
