Windows 10: can i use readyboost on my DVD disk

i have T61 pad it had only 2gb of ram and i wanted to improve ithowever i only have a dvd and no hard disk can i use it for readyboosting

2. CCleaner Operation with ReadyBoost: When you run CCleaner, it shouldn't directly interfere with how ReadyBoost operates, as ReadyBoost uses a special cache file () on the USB drive. However, there might be indirect effects:ReadyBoost.sfcache
   
   • If CCleaner is set to clean temporary files and happens to interact with the USB drive, there's a possibility it could cause delays or issues if it tries to scan or clean files related to ReadyBoost. Normally, CCleaner should not interfere with ReadyBoost's cache file, but software behavior can vary.
     
   • The issue your friend encountered with CCleaner stopping during a scan could be unrelated to ReadyBoost. It might be due to a problem with CCleaner itself, the USB drive, or another system issue.

Readyboost tab missing after 22h2 update

Windows supports the following form factors for ReadyBoost:

• USB 2.0 flash disks
  
• Secure Digital (SD) cards
  
• CompactFlash cards.
  

 

DVD/ CD Drive doesn't recognise disks

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Press Windows key + W and type troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Check if the DVD drive is getting detected in Disk Management

Refer the steps below to open disc management:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click on Disk Management.
• Click on Actions and click on rescan disks and click on
  Refresh and check if issue persists.

If there is no drive letter assigned, I suggest you right click on the DVD drive and assign a drive letter and check if it helps:

Method 3

Try to access the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest chipset drivers for your computer and install the same.
