    Please open this page to check if this is the Surface Pen you're referring. If
    it is, it shows a list of devices in the Tech Specs compatibility section. It doesn't say that it works with Dell. May we know where you saw the information that it works? From what you stated with the steps you did in the attempt to troubleshoot the issue,
    this is a hardware compatibility issue. We suggest that you return the pen and exchange it with a pen/stylus that will work with your Dell laptop. Please check further with Dell Support for pens/stylus that will work on your device.

    Not all touchscreens have pen support, so please be careful which pen you purchase . . .

    There is a reply on this thread on the Dell forum which explains the two types of pen you can use, depending on your screen type . ..

    Can I use the Surface Pen with my Dell Inspiron 13 5379 which supports MPP?

    MPP upgrade to 2.0

    I have a pen that runs MPP 2.0, but my Dell 2in1 runs MPP 1.5, so the pen's tilt function does not work. Is there a way to upgrade the computer to 2.0?
