Can malware transfer from signing into the Microsoft account that had malware installed

So I have been going crazy all day relentlessly trying everything to make sure I have gotten rid of the malware, I have used anti-virus applications to scan to see wether or not there is any malware. The thing is I’m pretty scared because I had downloaded something that I thought was safe but turns out my anti-virus picked it up but like an idiot I allowed it anyway. After that I realized what that meant I had just let a malware onto my device I quickly made sure to delete things that might have been something that I wouldn’t want someone to see so I removed my credit cards but only from steam

    :)
