    I have a client how uses windows 98se on old computers for machines, they use 3 parallel ports my question is can those usb to parallel port cables instead of a physical port, can I plug 3 cables into 1 machine? I ask here as there is alot of mixed information out there, so any help on this would fantastic thanks.Andrew

    Transferring Data Between a Windows 7 Desktop & a Windows 98 Laptop via Parallel Cable

    So, recently I got a IBM Thinkpad 770z, running Windows 98, and the only (efficient) way to transfer data is using a parallel cable. It has a floppy drive, but I can't use that since I don't have a floppy writer or reader, and it's very inefficient. Windows
    98 doesn't come with USB storage drivers, so I can't use a USB CD drive or a USB flash drive. I can't exactly do dial-up, so the only way I've found is by using a parallel or serial cable. I didn't have either that was female on both ends, so my friend gave
    me a parallel cable with that. The only problem is that the only other computer I have with a parallel port is my Dell Optiplex 390, running Windows 7 (It has a PCI-E card with serial & parallel ports in it). Is there a way to transfer data between my Windows
    7 desktop & my Windows 98 laptop via a parallel cable? What software do you need for it if it's possible (I highly suppose it is).

    Windows 98......

    Windows 98 SE is Windows 9x and Windows 2000 is Windows NT. Some software may not run on Windows 2000 where it did on Windows 98 SE (ISA especially).

    Windows 98 SE does have USB support but it isn't near as plug n' play as it is today. You have to make sure to install drivers (if nothing else, generic Microsoft drivers) for all USB devices. The Windows 98 SE disk comes in real handy for that.

    Pluscom USB to Parallel port interface

    I have a cable Pluscom USB to Parallel port interface.

    Win 10 recognize it only usb2.0 printer support and in system device I found unrecognized device.

    Someone have a driver or solution??

    I have to use it with an older portable printer (HP Deskjet340 - see other discussion for drivers!) and some control interface on parallel port
