Windows 10: Can my old laptop run windows 10?

2012 Lenovo Ideapad Y500 Specs: 2.4GHz Intel Core i7-3630QMNVIDIA Geforce GT750MDDR3 8GB 1600MHz memoryIt was running windows 8.1 last time I used it last year and the HDD broke. Now that I installed a new SSD, I was wondering if I can install windows 10 on it or not.If I can run it, will there be any problems with the drivers? Will it run better than Win8.1 on it?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Old Laptop running XP> Linux?

Here are three to choose from base on file size from small to large.

1. Puppy
   • This is a small OS that will run on many old laptops.
   • Puppy Linux Home
2. Mint
   • This is a medium size that will run most old laptops.

3. Ubuntu
   • This is a full size that will run on laptops that meet the specs.
   • Enterprise Open Source and Linux | Ubuntu

All of them can be put on CD or USB if your computer can boot from USB. After that, you can run it live without installing it on the hard drive. If you like it, than you can install it but make sure to make a backup of your hard drive.

So I've tried the Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Build 9926,... So far so good i like it, it appears to already have DX12.

At list i have an old Laptop to test it on,.. it's good so far and i highly think I'll be upgrading to it day on of release.
