Windows 10: Can no longer adjust brightness in power settings..

As of the most recent windows update to my Lenovo T470s, the batter icon in the system tray no longer has a button to cycle through screen brightness settings. There is a slider bar to adjust between best performance and best battery lift but there used to be a button at the bottom which I could touch and it would cycle through 0%,25%,50%,75%,100% brightness independent from the battery settings.


I have updated my drivers. No change.

• Type Settings in the Search bar and then Enter.
• Click on the System and then Notifications and Actions which is available on the Left pane.
• Click on Add or Remove quick Actions.
• In the make sure that the Brightness is ON.
• Then click on the Action Center and adjust the Brightness according to your preference.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.

Brightness can not be adjusted.

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
• Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.
