Windows 10: Can not access data on USB stick after my laptop updated win10

HiAfter taking a 6,5GB backup on my 32GB USB stick fat32 I can not access data after the laptop automatic updated my Win10 Huawei laptop. I can see that there still is 6,5GB data on the USB stick, but i can not access it. The only thing I see is 2x 0 byte blank files with the name 0 and t. I tried running the repair tool, but that did not help. How can i access my backup data?

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

USB Memory Stick not recognized by Windows 10

I followed both steps suggested by Anish but still no joy. My laptop 'recognises' the usb by making a sound but fails to open it or even list it.

I'm using a Samsung series 9 laptop with Windows 10 and the USB is Maxwell 8gb.

I've used this same usb before in the same machine with no problems. The connection is obviously good as the red light in the usb comes on but it goes no further.

Hope you can help - there's some crucial stuff on the usb that I need to access.
