  1. Can not disable auto scroll

Since logging onto my PC this morning I have been plagued with auto-scroll. After doing some research I found there is an option in mouse settings labelled 'Scroll inactive windows when hovering over them' which was turned on not by me. After turning this off I found the problem actually worsened. It is definitely not a hardware issue as I have changed my mouse and keyboard and reinstalled drivers to no availHow do I fix this problem? I found another question asking this and followed all those steps and had no luck and the question was never answered further by Microsoft

    :)

    Disabling auto scroll

I've looked for about half an hour now and I can't find any way to disable auto scroll (the dumb cursor mode that engages when you click down on a mouse's scroll wheel). Apparently, a way used to exist back in Windows 7 but it no longer exists. Auto scroll
is the bane of my existence right now because my scroll wheel is broken and makes auto scroll engage randomly. Microsoft needs to add a way to disable auto scroll altogether.

I find it weird that someone actually spent time on the company's dime to nix that setting. Windows is getting a bit too much like macOS in that regard, although since OS X is unix-based, it's actually pretty easy to change hidden settings using the command
line. I don't know if Windows has a similar backdoor for "power users" to change these sorts of settings.

Windows explorer - How to disable navigation pane auto scroll

    Hi,

The issue I'm facing in my work laptop (Windows 10) and in personal laptop (Windows 8.1 update1).

Due to restriction, I'm using screenshot from my personal laptop; but the issue is exactly same.

This seems to be windows explorer bug, was present in Win 7, then in 8 and now in 10. It's very irritating.

For example, I opened windows explorer. The navigation pane is normal.

I clicked "#Downloads" in navigation pane. The folder opened in right side, in the actual window.

Then I double clicked the "Images" folder in actual window, and navigation pane selection scrolled to the "This PC" area.
But I have not clicked anything in the navigation pane.

So, to use the pinned/favorite folders from navigation pane, again need to be scrolled up.

The setting as suggested in many forums, is exactly same:

Is there any way to stop this current behavior of windows explorer?

      Properties from my computer.
    • Click on Advanced and click on
      Performance settings
      .
