Windows 10: Can not find my new network/wifi

I switched to a new internet provider. My laptop Lenovo with Windows 10 Pro is not detecting the new wifi/network. * I tried the "trouble shooting" and "manually connect" options, but my laptop still does not detect the new wifi. * The laptop detects my "old" wifi I have two internet providers at this moment and plan to disconnect the "old" wifi once I have everything working.* My Lenovo laptop is the only device that does not detect the new wifi/network. All other devices 1 PC/desktop, 1 Mac, and 2 iPhones detect and can connect to the new wifi/network.* My old wifi and other networks

New Wifi default to metered

Yes, it is a Registry entry. See the procedure in my post #74 in another TenForums thread. {in case it is of interest, my post #73 in that thread lists the steps I take to avoid all automatic Windows updates}

By making that change, every new WiFi network will, by default, be set as metered. You will still be able to change that back to non-metered for a specific WiFi network in the normal manner.

Unable to see a specific WiFi Network in list

I have Windows 8.1. I can see the WiFi networks of everyone in the vicinity. However, am unable to see the WiFi network installed in my home.

The WiFi Network that am unable to see is a new connection. This new connection is seen by all devices (Mobiles etc) but it is.not getting displayed in my Windows 8.1 list.

I have seen other threads on the issue which recommend checking WLAN Autoconfig etc. And have tried those steps too. But there is no change in the outcome.

Can anyone please suggest any solution that migjt work. I am not willing to format my Laptop.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Is it possible to set up a new manual wifi connection from the command line?

I'm trying to work out a solution to set up ad-hock wifi connections in Windows 8.1 based on the suggestions in a post on Micsrosoft's answers site. Is there any way to do the first few steps:

• go to "Network and Sharing Center"
  
• click "Set up a new connection or network"
  
• double click "Manually connect to a wireless network"
  
• enter the SSID of the ad-hoc network (as shown by "netsh wlan show networks") into the "Network name" field
  
• configure security settings accordingly
  
• uncheck "Start this connection automatically" (important)
  

...without using the windows dialogs?
