Windows 10: Can not select a time zone for Sydney

Would like to display the time zone for Sydney by hovering over the taskbar clock but I don't know which one to pick for Sydney. I have 5 UTC+11 to pick from but no idea what the locations are.

Time Zone Change

I moved states recently and went to change my time zone, only to discover my new time zone (Sydney) wasn't on the list.

How do I get the new time zone added. I would have thought all the major cities would have been there automatically.

 

Time Zone Changed by System

(1) IP address definitely 'Sydney, New South Wales, Australia' as indicated by link provided.

2) Disabling 'Set time zone automatically' seemed to fix the problem - tested by both direct 'Restart' and 'Shutdown/Start'.

Does the Sydney IP address location and the fact that the wrong Time Zone was being automatically reset indicate a problem?

NB Had another smaller Windows update in the meantime - I don't know if that is relevant to the problem being fixed by that instead.

Hi Dean,

Try the classic “Date and Time” applet in the classic Control Panel as a workaround.

You can launch it via Control Panel or run timedate.cpl via the Run dialog.
