Windows 10: Can not type type password at UEFI log in page. Can not type when laptop boots.

1 My Dell laptop keyboard is blocked when it starts up Windows 10 which was upgraded from Windows 8. I sign in to my laptop using Ease of Access function by using on-screen keyboard to type password. It is annoying ; but what to do . 2 I went to the Advanced startup to access to UEFI setting but it was not possible to enter because I could not type my password. There was no Ease of Access icon on the sign in screen for UEFI setting . I tried to sign in by deleting my password but it did not work neither. I mean, I could see there before without psd but I could not change anythin

Password Typing

Well in my years of working on computers this is a new one for me. I have someone with a laptop Windows 10, all updates are current, just went through an update this morning. When I remote into this laptop I can type passwords anywhere on the system. The laptop itself can type anything but a password, not to log in, not on any software, no passwords will type on any website we try to log into. As I said we can type on anything else, Word, Excel, Gmail, Browser Address Bar, Browser Search Bar, but when we get to a login screen, then it cannot type. Even logging into Windows did not allow me to type a password? Also noticed that I cannot type anything of security, no credit card info either, yet on the same page I an type an address, a phone number, etc, but nothing secure.

Can't type in PIN number when logging back in to Lock Screen

Hi everyone, occasionally when I return to my pc and want to log back in, I am not able to type any letters. I click into the log-in box but no characters are typed in. Whether it is the PIN or Password screen, no characters appear. To be clear, it does not do it every time, mostly I can log back in no problem.

Can anyone suggest a remedy? Many thanks, Chig.
