Windows 10: Can only choose "balanced" power plan, cmd prompt to add ultimate performance does nothing.

Just bought an HP Victus today and when I tried to swap power plans to ultimate performance there was only balanced. I know some computers dont have it by default so I used the cmd command "powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61" and it still doesnt work. No idea why this is happening as it has worked fine with all my other workstations in the past. Would appreciate a solution to this.

Ultimate Performance Battery Plan

I was just wondering how to enable the ultimate performance battery plan on my dell laptop running windows 11.

I have tried using cmd prompt and powershell with admin by typing this into both: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 but I am still not seeing the ultimate performance battery plan under Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options.

Instead, I'm only seeing the Balanced battery plan.

If someone knows how to fix this pls rsvp me.

How to enable Ultimate Performance Power Plan in Windows 10?

The "Ultimate Performance" power plan exists since Windows 10 Version 1803.
To activate the Power Plan, the following steps must be taken:

1. Open cmd.exe as Administrator
   
2. Duplicate the scheme with: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
   
3. Copy the guid from ultimate plan
   
4. Set the ultimate plan active with: powercfg /setactive <GUID>
   

 

Getting only balanced power plan

Hi,

Please note down the Balanced plan settings if you've customized them.

Then run the following command in the Admin CMD prompt:

• powercfg.exe -restoredefaultschemes
  

This restores the missing schemes.

Reconfigure the Balanced plan settings again.
