Can only connect microphone or sound, not both without it switching to terrible audio quality

So I'm using bluetooth headphones, and whenever I try using a microphone for anything it automatically makes my audio quality wayyy worse. Usually when I try using a microphone, other people in discord can't hear me or if they can hear me then I can't hear them. Recently now its also changed where anytime I go to watch something on Google Chrome, the audio quality goes down to that same level. I've restarted the headphones, restarted the computer, completely removed the headphones from the computer, and more to try and fix this but nothing has worked. I'm not sure if this is part of the problem, but in the sound devices panel, I have two different "playback" options for the same headset, one says "headphones" and the other says "headset earphone". The headphones one has the good sound quality, but anytime I want to use a microphone, so when "headset" is selected in the "recording" tab of the sound devices menu, it won't connect at all unless I use the "headset earphone" option. Please help me with this I don't know what else to do and really need assistance. I'm using a windows 10 computer, and beats stereo wireless 3, but the problem seems consistent across different headphones too. : Any help would be greatly appreciated

    :)

  2. Bluetooth Sound Quality is Terrible

    thanks for @Maximus2016 on the
    lenovo support forums
    I've fixed my problem!

    • Right click the speaker icon in the system tray by the clock
      • Click 'Playback devices'
    • Change the default to the 'headphones'

the lenovo support link has screen shots, fyi.

    "Some bluetooth devices have
2 modes: Regular listening device and a "handsfree" mode where you can use both the audio and microphone. If you somehow got switched to
handsfree mode, then the audio quality will be much worse since some of the
bluetooth bandwidth will be taken up for the microphone."

Terrible Sound Quality After Windows 10 Update

I've been having this issue ever since I've received the update from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 more than two years ago, where the sound quality is botched and would seem as if it's coming from the microphone rather
than the speakers themselves. The audio randomly shifts as if it's being projected from the microphone, and a temporary solution for this would be to disable the speaker and re-enable it. Sometimes it takes multiple times for this procedure to work, but it
does the job anyways. The instance it would shift from clear sound quality into being projected as if from the microphone is random.

I know it seems as if it's coming out of the microphone because when I open the "Sound" tab and switch between "Playback" and "Recording" when I don't have any sound issues and I'm playing something with audio, the terrible sound quality that
I randomly get is always the same when I'm on the "Recording" tab.

After the newest Windows update (whatever its name is) that includes the Painter 3D and such, the sound issue isn't fixed by simply disabling and re-enabling the device and I have no clue what to do.

Updating, uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the driver, and changing the hertz into every possible option doesn't help. Running the audio troubleshooter didn't help either. I tried it, and it said "device wasn't set to default" along with a green
    "fixed" icon, but nothing changed.
