  2. My Computer Freezes at a Black Screen With Circling Dots

my computer trouble has been threefold. first, it would not progress beyond the BIOS sign-in page. Disconnecting the other drives and the internet connection as well as re-installing The BIOS program from ASUS's .CAP file for it solved the problem.
My computer then would not let me into the sign-in security box requiring passwords and PINs. I changed my sign-in to bypass this step. Finally the computer started freezing at a black screen with swirling dots but no mouse pointer. Scans and utilities
at least make the problem less frequent.

My Computer Freezes at a Black Screen With Circling Dots

Mr. de Costa's first suggestion about using The Shift-Windows Icon-P to change the desktop display almost got rid of the swirling dots. They only appeared once in 10 restarts. Oddly, my display seems considerably improved too.
