Windows 10: can rufus imager format the bit-locked partition completely as the original targeted...

When i shrink 5 gb storage from my external disk hard drive making it fat32 and drive D: and try to Rufus/flash-win11 into it D: shrinked no-bitlock drive and after reinserting usb it relock--> J: drivelarge data-bit-locked and make open type D: drive shows. and Rufus Shows me the Drive name insum : -my adata DRIVE name: [d:][J:] 1TB, i thought it only accept open drive even though its name is in combined [D:][J:] showing by rufus when selecting. and Run/Start Rufus, but it stop after formatting and start flashing that fat32 5GB shrinked drive and that error make disappear my Or

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Changing partition scheme on Bit Locked system

My name is Ray and I recently purchased a new HP 17” laptop with Windows 11. I discovered this computer’s main hard drive partition, C: was bit locked by the manufacturer. I assume it was Bit Locked with my pin as I have access to the system.

My question is will this cause a problem with my attempt to change the partition scheme? I have used Disk Manager many times over the years but have never had to face doing it with a bit locked partition. I intend to have three partitions leaving the original c: partition bit locked and one of the other partitions also being bit locked under a different drive designation.

 

Partitions created by rufus

I downloaded the windows 10 install iso and I used rufus to copy it to a usb stick. I then installed the OS. Four partitions were created in my hard drive. I can also see that rufus created its own partition uefi_ntfs in the usb stick.

How can I get rid of the partitions added by rufus in the hard drive and in the usb stick ? I don't need them, for years I have booted in uefi without rufus' help. I feel invaded.
