Windows 10: Can someone assist me on getting my drivers updated?

The only thing about the ASUS that I don't like is that it doesn't have a backlit keyboard which means when I press the caps lock or number lock keys, it doesn't light up or tell me that caps lock or number lock is on. However, there is some kind of software that I can download from ASUS that tells me when caps or num lock is on or off. If someone could help me with that, that would be appreciated.

Pull up this website and if you can find it, then look under ATK. I don't even know if it's installed. But I really don't think it is.

 

So that is a fix to something you likely already have.

This is a zip so you would click on the link below. Once downloaded it should be a folder showing the zipped folder icon.

You would right click on folder and select extract all. This will create a folder with the same name but it won't show the "Zipper"

Create a restore point.
Windows Key + R
type sysdm.cpl
Enter
Window Opens
Click on System Protection Tab
Click on Create
Follow the prompts.

When restore point created go back to the extracted folder. Find Setup file and double click. Follow prompts. Now I can't find manual for product so not sure how to turn on. I can't install on my system but tomorrow I might have access to Asus laptop with this software, maybe.

Now as an alternate I offer you this simple utility. Once downloaded, right click and scan with your AV. I just downloaded and scanned, no issues, but good to recheck. I use this on my hp laptop.

Free Caps Lock indicator software

Once download, create restore point as above. When restore point created double click on keyboard-leds.exe This launches product. Set up with colors you want and other settings.

This puts a small icon in your systray. Not sure how you have yours set up. If the icon doesn't show then

Right click in task bar
click "Settings" right at the bottom of menu.
scroll down a little on right side and click on "Select which icons appear on task bar"
Turn on "Keyboard Led's"

Hi Jesse.

Check my wife's Asus laptop. She doesn't use this Asus feature. She has a very small indicator in the lower left corner of laptop keyboard surface.

That keyboard LED's will do what you want, indicate caps and num locks. If you want to try it.

 

What indicator are you talking about on your wife's computer? I downloaded the Keyboard LED software last night. So far it works fine.

On hers there are very small indicators to indicate Caps an Num Locks. She did not appear to be using the software from Asus that I said I would check on.

I missed them, she pointed them out. When looking at laptop they are in the lower left corner.

Doesn't matter. You got what you needed and that is what we were trying to solve.
