Audio not working! Need Help!!

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

Method 2.

Step 1.

I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
  to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
  

If the still persist, try the below steps.

Step 2.

I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
  update the software.

If the above methods did not help to fix the issue, try the below method.

Method 3.

I suggest you to go to the below link, select appropriate Windows operating system and download the audio driver and install same.

I used solution #3 on this Windows help page. See below.

Fix sound problems

Try these steps ( ):

• 
  Open Start, enter Device Manager, and select it from the list of results. Under
  Sound, video, and game controllers, select your sound card, open it, select the
  Driver tab, and select Update Driver. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, look for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.
  
• 
  If those steps didn't work, try uninstalling your audio driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the audio driver, and select
  Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
  
• 
  If that didn't work, try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows. Here's how: in
  Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) your audio driver >
  Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software
  > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, select
  High Definition Audio Device, select Next, and follow the instructions to install it.

Your efforts to work on this issue is very much appreciated.

If you have not yet tried this then suggest you to uninstall the audio driver from the Device Manager and restart the pc so that the default driver would get loaded.

I would suggest you to completely uninstall the audio driver and restart the computer to reinstall the default drivers.

Follow these steps.

• 
  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
  
• 
  In the list of devices, you should see the audio or sound drivers.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and then select "Uninstall".
  
• 
  In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
  

In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes”
option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

Review Windows Update. The Windows Update service is a key item to review. Windows Update may have updated drivers available that may be relevant to your current issue. Many times, updated drivers are listed in the "Optional" section of Windows Update.
Install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps.
