Windows 10: Can someone help me with audio issues? Volume keeps automatically turning down.

My gaming computer is fairly new, like maybe a month old. I have been having an issue with my volume automatically turning down. I have made sure all audio drivers are up to date, nothing is triggering the volume keys, and it is not on auto adjust. I can usually get it to stop by disconnecting power to my computer and restarting it but that is such a pain to do every time this issue arises which is almost daily. I have tried all of the tips and tricks from previously suggested forum questions and haven't seen a more recent one that 2021. Does someone know what the issue is? My computer is a pr

Does the audio work in other applications?

If you are not able to hear the audio in any applications. I would suggest to check with the steps below and see if it resolves your issue.

Steps:

1. Check if the audio driver is updated. Follow the steps mentioned in the article to update audio drivers.
   
   Update drivers in Windows 10
   
2. The issue can occur if the appropriate playback device is not selected. Click the
   Sound icon (bottom right corner of the screen), click Playback device and select the appropriate device from the menu.
   
3. Check the In-game audio settings to confirm if the sound is turned
   on.
   
4. Check the Volume levels in the system's Volume Mixer to confirm that it is not turned
   off and the levels are appropriate. Right click on the Sound icon and select
   Open volume mixer. Adjust the settings as per your requirements.
   

If the audio issue is only with the game, I would suggest to get in touch with the
game developer
to get a confirmation on this.

Windows 10 volume turns up by itself

• Already tried the linked program, it didn't help (actually it doesn't even play any test sounds when it should)
• Tried all the steps described in Lonnie_L's guide. Didn't help
  • drivers up to date
  • cables, check volume done
  • ran the audio troubleshooter
  • set the default audio playback device
  • turned off enhancements (I want to use enhancements. It's not a solution if I have to turn them off but I did just to make sure it wasn't the problem. It didn't help)
  • tried different audio formats
• None of the above helped

• Have you checked the issue with other user accounts?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to turn off and then turn on volume icon. Check if it helps.

Method 1: I recommend you to try to turn on the system icon for volume by following below steps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type "Turn system icons on and off" without the quotes and click on it.

3. Turn off and then try to turn on the volume icon
from the list.

If the issue still persist, refer to the method below.

Method 2: Try to update the audio driver in the Device Manager and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.

3. Expand Audio inputs and outputs.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.
