Windows 10: Can someone help me with my lack of a CD/DVD Driver

Hi, I recently bought an external DVD drive but soon realised that my computer itself doesn't have the CD/DVD driver installed so even with the external drive I cannot play any disks I wish to and was wondering if I could get some help on where to go, I already have the VLC media player installed but I just need the CD/DVD Driver. It does not show up in Device Manager nor This PC. What I have tried to do is contact the seller of the external CD/DVD drive but it's been over a week and there has been no response, I just wish this was a much easier process. I have also tried googling drivers but

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Follow these steps to run the windows in built troubleshooter:

• 
  1. Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
  
  2. Click on Troubleshooting tab.
  
  3. Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
  
  4. Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
  5. Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to update the DVD/CD-ROM drivers on your computer and check if it helps. Refer the below steps to update the driver.

• 
  1. Press “Windows + X” and select Device manager.
  
  2. Select DVD/CD-ROM and expand the driver icon.
  
  3. Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
  
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
  
  5. Restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

I would suggest you to install the latest drivers for CD/DVD drive from the manufacturer’s website or can update the drivers by following the steps provided below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “devmgmt.msc”.
• Right click on DVD/CD Roms from the list and select
  properties.
• Under Driver tab click on Update button and follow the prompts to update the driver.

CD/DVD not loading any of my pc games

Hi,  

This issue might occur due some problem with display drivers.

I suggest you to update DVD / CD drivers and check if it helps.

Please follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• 
  Expand DVD/CD ROM.
  
• 
  Right click on the video driver and select
  Update Driver Software.
