Windows 10: Can someone help re PDC WATCHDOG TIMEOUT frequent crashing and error messages on a Dell...

I frequently have to restart following a blue screen error message, particulalry if i have closed the laptop without shutting down - which i don't do frequently but which is sometimes necessary.I have had these issues ever since i got my laptop almost a year ago. it seems to happen whether it is plugged in or not. I don't use it for gaming or anything particularly advanced. it's for work.I recently spent a long time on the phone to Dell and after running some tests i was advised that there was no issue with the hardware and the problem might be my Windows. I have read a few similar problems

I am getting a PDC Watchdog Timeout error message - What failed pdc.sys

What does this mean and how do i fix it?

 

Clock Watchdog Timeout error

I am trying to upgrade my Windows 7 pro to windows 10 pro, during Installation I get a blue screen with error
"Clock Watchdog timeout". I have Dell notebook 6430u with I7 and 8gig ram. This process of upgrading to new windows 10 takes along time, anyone have any suggestions before I start the upgrade one more time. I already check no viruses or malware,

Any help would be grateful.

New CPU cooler for Ryzen questions and suggestions

Your Ryzen 7 1700X should be close to 4.0GHz anyway, so overclocking is pointless.
If the computer freezes then there should be an error listed in the crash logs, most likely a clock watchdog timeout, changing the cooler won't fix it.
I'd suggest leaving the CPU stock and clocking your Ram up a bit.
