    Can the buttons of an HID controller be renamed?


    From what I understand, Windows assigns the button labels to HID devices, so that when you press a button on the device Windows tells the program you're using what button has been pushed. Can these button labels be renamed for individual devices?For example, I have a joystick where the buttons labels are listed as "JOY_BTN_1", "JOY_BTN_2" etc. Is there a way to rename that button for that device to say "BTN_BLUE", "BTN_RED" etc? The idea is that when there is a text prompt saying which button to use for a particular action it gives a useful button name.Thanks
