Windows 10: Can the numbering of sound device be turned off?

Hi,We use windows in a production environment and plug in many of the same head sets for testing.The automatic numbering of new devices is causing issues in other test programs when trying to find the sound device by name.Is there a way to turn off this numbering f sound devices?I have tried to add "IgnoreHWSerNum13950189" in the registry as well as "IgnoreHWSerNum" on the VIDPID on each device key but this does not seem to work in all cases.We are using USB C 3.0 ports.We do not want to clear the drivers each time either as this takes too much time in production.We just want to turn off the n

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

USB sound/midi device not recognized

I have a Technics PR804 keyboard attached to my Windows 10 laptop through USB. I've installed the drivers that came with my keyboard by entering compatibility mode to Windows ME, but the device manager won't recognize the hardware when it's turned on and
plugged into my laptop. I've seen instructions online indicating that device manager should identify the keyboard as a sound device, and that I should be able to choose folder location for correct driver, but can't complete this step as device manager does
not list the keyboard as an available device.

Any suggestions?

 

NumLock Turns Letters Into Numbers on Desktop Computer

I had the same problem, it seems that it happens only with several keyboards.
Finally I solved it this way (sorry, but I've got Polish language set):

• Step 1 - Go to keyboard driver properties using Device Manager and select Update driver
  
• Step 2 - Select Browse my computer, then Allow me to choose from drivers list
  
• Step 3 - Uncheck "Show compatible hardware"
  

Now find something like "Standard keyboard device" on the drivers list, install it (click Yes in the compatibility warning window) and check if keyboard is still working.

If so - reboot Your computer and enjoy fixed keyboard without letters turning into numbers.

If not - revert driver back and try another one.
