Can the software call the resource manager to read the file? Why do explorers Explorer.EXE parent process userinit.exe and sihost.exe parent process svchost.exe always want to read the personalized settings file on my other hard drive? D:\Users\**\Music\desktop.ini and /video/desktop.ini I did not use the Explorer to open the D drive file, nor set it in any shortcuts of the system I was operating, but it kept reading There shouldn’t be any relationship between these two systems

Cannot read files on floppy disk

Hi, I have files that I know are good on a floppydisk. On trying to access them a message says the disk need formatting. I have tried to use PhotoRec from the UBCD but it will apparantly only read HDD or CD/DVD.

Can anyone suggest a freeware program that might work. Thank you for your help.

    Remove read only from files

    Hi,

Read-only is a file attribute, or a characteristic that the operating system assigns to a file. Files can be only opened or read with this attribute active. You cannot delete, change, or rename any file that’s been flagged as read-only.

To change the read-only attribute, follow the steps below:

    • Right-click the file or folder icon that you wanted to modify.

    • Remove the check mark by the Read-Only item in the file’s
      Properties
      dialog box.

The attributes are found at the bottom of the General tab.

    • Click Apply then OK.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Can the software call the resource manager to read the file? Why read the personalized file...

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

CCleaner Professional | Try the world’s most trusted PC cleaner, free!

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.
