    I've tried all found methods to get rid of spellchecker, but none of them work *Sad


    Spellcheck is highlighting all the words that I'm typing in Skype and Facebook messenger apps. So far I've tried these things that I've googled for the last 5 hours:



    1. Devices - Typing - Highlight misspeled words uncheck everything

    2. Renamed to _OLD MsSpellCheckingHost.exe and MsSpellCheckinFacility.dll under Windows/System32

    3. Registry entries HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7 both values are at 0

    4. Added Lithuanian language as Preferred under Region

    5. In gpedit.msc went to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options and enabled both Turn off autocorrect... and Turn off highlight...

    6. Cleared the dictionary dic file contents under %AppData%\Microsoft\Spelling


    Btw, one of the tweaks helped with a Whatsapp app which was highlighting words also, but now it's free! But still no luck with messenger and skype.

    What I'm doing wrong?

    You're quite right about the version. I'm out to kill the Facebook Messenger. Thought that possibly removing the Windows app might help, but it doesn't. Will look into the URL you suggested above. Thanks! Can turn off spellcheck in some apps (Skype and Facebook Messenger) :)

    Hi All

    Just touching base on Windows 10 Facebook & Messenger Apps. They still aren't working on my end. Even after the latest update. Which was Sat 15/10/ 2016.

    Any suggestions & ideas, would be appreciated. Thankyou.
