Windows 10: Can W-10 dimmed ‘Uninstall’ be used?

When we scan the applications in the ‘Settings’ facility of Windows 10, all of them display the ‘Uninstall’ button beside. But when the writing ‘Uninstall’ is dimmed, the application cannot be removed. In the early versions of Windows, only really essential software components were so protected and, for example, games like Mahjong or solitaire could be easily removed. Not so with Windows 10, whose Xbox has a dimmed and unresponsive ‘Uninstall’. The same happens with installed voice packages, Cortana, and other elements that are unwelcome in cheap computers with limited power and storage. The problem is aggravated by the need to install once or twice per year an even more massive update of Windows 10.

Such constraint looks even more incomprehensible when we move to the ‘Advanced Options’ of an application with a dimmed ‘Remove’ or ‘Uninstall’ and, beside it, we read the following: ‘Uninstall this app and its settings. Your documents will not be affected’. If pressing the dimmed ‘Uninstall’ proves ineffectual, why telling the customer that the app can be safely removed?

Is anyone able to clarify this apparent contradiction? Is there a way to streamline Windows 10 to the bare essential components in a way that suits computers like mine an Acer Switch One SW1-011, with 30 GB of storage and an Atom x5-Z8350 CPU @ 1.44GHz?

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused

There's a possibility that this issue is due to the Display settings of your device. For us to isolate your concern, we'd like to ask a few questions:

• Is it only happening when you connect your device to Windows 10?
• If it's not connected, have you noticed certain activities wherein the screen dims automatically?
• Have you tried using a different HDMI cable?

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
2. Select or click Ease of Access.
3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
5. Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.
