Windows 10: Can Windows 10 cause English letters to type double

Thank you for your welcome. Yes, they replaced the keyboard, the motherboard, the screen, the whole commputer, but still the samme problem. Have to wait and see whhat will happen.

 

I have an Acer Swift 3. After 8 months, in Dec 2017, I began getting double letters while typing. Not every single letter, and nnot every tiime, but inn evvery program. I went to Accer for 5 months and the tried evverything to fix it, reloading Windows a half dozen times, changing all the components, even giving me a new computer. Nothhing worked. They gave mme anothher computer to try, and the same problem existed. Now this computer was sold inn Thailannd and with Thai characters, there was no problem, but with English, there was. Acer decided, after I visiting their service facility for over 15 times, they wouldn't return my money. So, now I'm wonnderinng if this could be the Accer version of Windows they innstalled on the commputer. Or sommething preloaded into firmware. Is it possible to completely wipe out all versionn of Winndows and install a fresh version that has nothing to do with Acerr? As you can see, my computer is useless.

Keyboard Typing non-English Letters

In my language settings my language is English (United States) but it whenever I type a certain letter with a number key it turns the letter into a non-English letter like ã (letter from the problem I'm having) which is annoying me when I type since I'm
mainly English and always TYPE in English.



So,
anyone know how I can fix this so I can't type non-English letters?

Welcome to the forum.

A very interesting post! My Logitech G910 keyboard had been producing the same thing. I replaced it with a Microsoft keyboard today. As you can see above, pressing the spacebar once caused two spaces. So maybe it's not the Logitech keyboard after all, but Windows 10 misbehaving somehow. I'll keep my eyes on the results for the next week or so to see if this continues with the new keyboard.

edited to add: the forum seemed to have gotten rid of the double spaces between welcome and to.
