Windows 10: Can you help me fix my display and sound issues with my new monitor?

I recently got an LG UltraWide monitor 3440 x 1140 for my Windows 11 machine. When I first plugged connected my computer to the monitor, the display fit the entire screen, and the resolution was great. A little bit later, my machine told me it needed to restart. After the restart, the resolution only fit 4/5 of the screen, and despite searching through the LG drivers on my system, I am not sure how to return the settings to use the monitor correctly.Additionally, the output sound on the monitor does not work either. I tried changing the default device to the monitor in my sound settings and

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• When will the sound disable, when playing through main monitor or the extended monitor?
• Did you try enabling the sound from the sound drivers and check if it helps?
• Since from when are you facing this issue?

This issue causes because the monitor automatically takes the HDMI sound as the Default input. Disable and enable the speakers and check if it helps.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

• Right click on the volume control and then
  Properties,
• When you connect the HDMI it becomes the default output device, even though it has no speakers.
• You need to change this back to "Speakers" and set as default.

• What is the exact issue are you facing with sound?
• Are you getting any error message?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?

Method 1: I suggest you to install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

• Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
• Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
• Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

I would suggest you to follow these steps and run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

• Type “Troubleshoot” without quotes in search and click on
  Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the left side of the screen.
• In the new window, click Hardware and Sound.
• In the list of options, click on Hardware and Devices.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

• If troubleshooter doesn't fix issue uninstall and reinstall latest drivers from device manufacturer and check if the issue persist.
