Windows 10: Can you leave Windows 10 dictation on indefinitely until you stop it?

Hi,


When I have used the dictation feature in Windows 10, if I don't say anything for maybe 10 seconds, dictation stops on its own. I would like to leave dictation on for a long period of time with many periods of silence. Can you change a setting so that dictation will stay on indefinitely, and it will only stop when you give it a stop command? Or, if you can't keep it on indefinitely, can you increase the amount of time it hears nothing before it will automatically stop?

I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run Search and Indexing Troubleshooter.

Follow the steps given below to run Search and Indexing Troubleshooter.

  Type Troubleshooting in the Search box from the desktop.
  
• 
  Select the Troubleshooting option.
  
• 
  Select View All option and select the
  Search and Indexing.
  
• 
  Click on Next to perform the Search and Indexing troubleshooter and follow the steps.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to search for the latest drivers for your device from the Microsoft website, try to download all the updates and check if it helps.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
