Windows 10: Cancel/Copying Window Stuck

I've stopped the canceling of a folder from my computer to my external. I originally hit the pause button and it greyed out and didn't pause it. At first the cancel/copy box for this folder transfer was originally still visible at all times, now it's only visible when I'm canceling or copying other files.

How do I get it to completely stop and to not continue to show up


The first print screen is one it's own this is before it disappeared and the second is when I try to copy new files or cancel files it reappears. So again I can't see the canceling 99% one when I'm not copying or canceling other files to the same folder. Please help

I got a pre-patience step when the msg "Windows can't be installed on this drive" came up and took time to get past. My NE522 did pass that step and is now stuck on copying files. It is a contest now to see if the man can be more patient then the machine!

*Nerd IT WORKS! In this day of "non-instant means broke" patience still works.

 

Windows 10: Why does a Copy/File operation when Cancelled take seemingly forever to actually cancel ?

when copy operation starts it creates a list of future actions including a list of files. If one cancels operation the system needs to clear this queue and this takes some time for each file. The more files were still in queue, the longer it cancelling.

 

Windows Installer popup on Windows 10 will not cancel

For us to isolate the issue with the Windows Installer pop-up that can't be cancelled, we would like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• When you say "It will not cancel", can you tell us what happens when you try canceling it?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In he meantime, we suggest that you perform a clean boot. It will help us determine if there are any third-party
programs/apps that is causing the issue. It could be some other applications or programs.
